A New Chapter for My Book Corner

After two fantastic years running My Book Corner, it’s time to pass the baton—or more accurately, the bookmark! Taking over from the legend herself, Emma Perry, was no small feat (there were definitely some epic shoe-filling moments), but it’s been an absolute page-turner of an adventure. The best part of all, of course, has been shining a spotlight on new books—from exciting debut authors and illustrators to fresh releases from well-established names.

But as all great stories do, this one is evolving. I am thrilled to announce that My Book Corner will now be in the hands of the brilliantly bookish Sareen McLay!

Sareen lives in Aberdeen and can usually be found trying to finish any other jobs as quickly as possible so she can get back to reading.

She is the co-ordinator for the Aberdeen and Northeast Hub of the Society of Children’s Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI).

Her middle grade story, Whispers, was long listed for the Kelpies Prize 2024. She has had poems and short stories published.

She also has a blog www.switchthekettleonlove.com

I know the blog is in wonderful hands and I’m excited to see where Sareen’s fresh perspective will take it!

A big thanks to you all for being part of this chapter in my life, and here’s to many more bookish adventures ahead!
