Netta Becker and the Timeline Crime by Jennifer Claessen

Set on the Greek island of Crete, steeped in ancient myths and legends, Netta and her family are all set to enjoy their family holiday.

The only thing is, Netta doesn’t understand her younger brother, Remy’s obsession with Ancient Greece. Her parents have decided that this holiday is all about his interests for a change as normally most of their time is taken up taking Netta to swim training and Galas.

Something Netta could never ever have imagined, happens as soon as they arrive at their holiday villa.

Time travelling  back to four thousand years ago, Netta helps princess Ari to rescue seven children from the Minotaur in the labyrinth built by Icarus.

What she doesn’t realise is, it will have implications in her own time.

Can she help Ari to save more children from a terrible fate, solve the mystery of the monster in the labyrinth and survive herself?

Delve into an ancient world in this time travelling mystery.

Netta must learn to put her own ambitions aside and think of others and in doing so begin to understand the strength and importance of her relationship with her younger brother, Remy.

I loved how involved I felt in this story. I was with Netta every step of the way as she built her relationship with Ari, who calls her the ‘Tricksy Muse’.

What a wonderful way to learn about the Minotaur, King Minos, Ariadne in addition to Icarus and Daedalus. Jennifer Claessen has taken the myths and made the stories her own, encouraging others to do so too.

This is perfect for classes learning about Ancient Greece.
