Jungle Jamboree, written and illustrated by Jo Empson, is a funny tale about the true meaning of beauty and that kindness is the most beautiful thing of all.
Who will be crowned the most beautiful of all at the Jungle Jamboree? Lion, Leopard, Hippo, Zebra?
Each of the animals within the story is worried about their physical appearance — their mane is too dull, their legs are too short, or their spots are too spotty. None of them feels that they could be the most beautiful of all at the jungle jamboree, so the animals decide to change their physical appearance into something they personally think is more beautiful…
But, just as the jungle jamboree begins, a sudden terrible storm causes mischief and chaos throughout the jungle, washing and blowing away all of their fancy frills and creations. Darkness then falls upon the jungle, and the judges can’t see who deserves to be crowned the most beautiful of all.
All until, Fly comes to the rescue with the light of the firefly, to show the judges the creatures’ natural beauty…
The illustrations in this book are beautiful, full of splashes of wild, bright vibrant colours and details. The illustrations go perfectly with the story and add lots of fun and emotion throughout.
