I stormed through The Worst Class in the World from Joanna Nadin & Rikin Parekh, pausing only to giggle at 4B’s antics and marvel over Parekh’s illustrations.
This is LITERALLY the funniest book I’ve read this year! It’s chock-a-block full of good humour with a fabulous cast of characters. 4B are a well meaning class to be fair, but, let’s just say things don’t always go according to plan. As a result their headteacher, Mrs Bottomly-Blunt, has declared them “the worst class in the world”. Oops! Their class teacher, Mr Nidgett , is brilliantly endearing. But. At times. Even his patience is tested.
With an opening chapter that introduces 4B and the teachers, followed by two short stories depicting 4B’s antics, this one is absolutely ideal for new and emerging readers. Great to read in class, and nicely sized for bedtime reading.
Fabulous cast of characters, brilliant pace and energetic illustrations. What more could you want?
Top Tip: don’t try the biscuits.
