The Notwitches by Gary Panton, Illustrated by Dotty Sutton

We are delighted to be part of the wonderful Blog Tour for this super fun-filled new  book by Gary Panton!

Storymaker, Melanda Notwitch has not one, not two but three horrible aunts and they are set on making her life as miserable as possible!

Luckily Mitch the Witch appears at their door, and with the help of her talking cat, invites Melanda to join her witch crew.

Deciding she has had enough, Melanda runs away. Taking her trusty stuffed rabbit, Mr BunBun and a photo, the only reminder, of her family, with her, she finds Mitch.

Together they discover a spell to get rid of the three awful aunts, but first they must go on a quest to find a special ingredient.

Meeting a scary hairy biker gang, climbing a mountain and encountering mermaids with fish heads and human bodies, are all part of the adventure for Melanda, Mitch and Rolo, the cat.

Unbeknownst to Melanda, her aunts are on their trail!

Who will win the battle of the beach and can Melanda ever discover where the rest of her family are?

The Notwitches is a fun-filled adventure that will have you rooting for Melanda from the very beginning.

This is an imaginative and heart-warming story with wonderful characters that will stay with you long after you have finished reading the book. Full of humour and twists, it would be a joy to read aloud.

For fans of Roald Dahl, watch out for those awful aunts!

I love the illustrations by Dotty Sutton, the aunts are fabulously wicked and the mermaids on motorbikes – those you have to see!

Thank you to Chicken House Books for the review copy.
