Tell us about you in 25 words or less.
I am me. A person who paints and draws and writes stories. I have four brothers, a partner and 3 kids, no dogs. I love my work. I don’t want to die.
What makes you happy?
Just hanging around with family and friends and holidaying with my kids. Eating dumplings. Sailing in my mirror (that’s a boat).
Where have you always wanted to visit, but haven’t made it to … yet?
Maybe Antarctica by boat… but I get badly seasick.. or The Himalayas… or The Amazon… but they all take time and money and am tooooo busy!
Where is your favourite place to draw & write?
I work from my studio at the bottom of my garden. Like a big bedroom full of desks, drawers, paper. Paints and pens. Music and a wood stove. In the summer I can walk to the beach, have a quick swim and come back to work.
If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?
Climate change/ Global Warming… I want future generations to enjoy polar bears and coral reefs and Arctic wilderness.
What’s the best thing about being a published writer & illustrator?
I guess just having the opportunity to invent ideas and drawings and make kids laugh.
What’s the strangest question you’ve ever been asked (and what was your answer)?
What’s the strangest question you’ve ever been asked?” and the answer: What’s the strangest question you’ve ever been asked.
Who or what inspires you?
I think inspiration comes from within, but there are illustrators, writers, animators and painters who I learn from. Roald Dahl, Daffy Duck, Spongebob, Picasso, Peanuts, Wodehouse, stuff.
