Marty Moose: First Class Mischief by Claire Powell

Marty is all ready for his first day as a postmouse in Little Ditch. Every button on his new uniform is polished to a high shine.

If only his dad would remember he doesn’t like cheese for lunch!

Unbeknownst to Marty, when he arrives at the Little Ditch post office, there is mischief at work. Employee of the month (twenty-seven times!) Cyril Snorter instructs Marty in his new role but are the other post office employees as impressed with Cyril as he is with himself?

As he sets off on his round, Marty despairs of ever escaping from the labyrinth that is Whisker Warren. Luckily for Marty, along the way he makes a friend. A trumpet blowing, jumper wearing rabbit called Nibbles who really wants to help Marty deliver the post.

When it comes to delivering two parcels to the argumentative Carbuncle brother and sister. As the gruesome toads engage in a battle against one another, has Marty bitten off more than he can chew?

This is the story of a brave and adventurous little mouse with a mission to deliver the post, no matter what.

Marty Moose is a fun-filled tale with memorable characters, providing lots of fun and mischief.

For such a small mouse, Marty is a determined postmouse, with a particular skill in alliterations!

It is a heart-warming story of friendship and loyalty.

Author Claire Powell’s illustrations are wonderful. Every page is action packed and a joy to explore.

I particularly love the map on the first pages, full of Badger’s Bogs, Crook’s Corners and many more intriguing places names.

An added treat for every reader is the ‘How to Draw Marty’ explanation at the end.

A super chapter book for newly confident readers.
