I (Hate) Love Books by Mariajo Ilustrajo

The perfect book for World Book Day!

The school holidays have arrived at last but for one little girl, the holiday homework is a nightmare. She has to read a WHOLE  book!

On a trip to the library with her mother, she wonders how to pick one from the bewildering choice available . Luckily, her mother recommends one and back home she begins to read, and read and, you guessed it, read.

Much to her surprise, she finds herself drawn completely  into the adventure. A little fox guides her as she  discovers all the ingredients for a magic spell.

Look out for dragons, witches, fairies, pirates and even enchanted frogs!

What will happen once the girl and the fox discover all the ingredients?

This has to be one of the best adverts for reading books I have ever read.

I love the attitude  of the little girl at the start; she is so indignant about having to read a book over the holidays.

I love the illustrations by the author which start off in muted colours becoming bolder and brighter as the little girl enters into the magical world of the story.

We as the reader, are drawn into the magical adventure the little girl is reading.

This is like a whole library in one book and is surely for every person who has ever read a book by torchlight under the covers!

This is captivating until the very last illustration on the very last page.
