The duo are back, and this time Timothy Knapman and Joe Berger are saluting all the wonderful, superhero like antics of mums everywhere – Superhero Mum.
My Book Corner adores this picture book for not being overly cutesy and cuddly, as our little narrator admires all the superhero qualities of her mum.
Mum is portrayed as being a dab hand with the toolkit, in addition to the frying pan for pancakes. As well as great at teasing tangles from unruly hair, she’s portrayed as a fun parent too – from silly games at bathtime, to playing monster games in the playground, there are no stereotypes here. Although I did feel a bit exhausted by the end, gosh Mum’s do a lot don’t they?
Well, just like Superhero Dad, this is a lovely, fun celebration filled with Joe Berger’s energetic and vibrant illustrations.
“Every mum’s a superhero
and so is every girl!”
Superhero Mum is a featured titled in our collection of The Best Mother’s Day Books For Children.
